At some point or another I figured out why Prometheus ended up the way it did.

Some exec in Hollywood was like “hey the guys who wrote LOST were successful let’s throw them in Ridley Scott’s direction and see how that goes”.

Goddammit, LOST was about raising questions that didn’t have answers because the plot was throwing darts at a board. In a film that is basically Alien but with a more space operatic tone, that is not the kind of scripting you want.

There had better be some new goddamned writers for Prometheuses. Ridley Scott deserves better.
